faded horizens (2024 ongoing)
May the horizon anchor us, yet not bind us.
Taken from the same spot in Northern Michigan, where the horizon meets the waters of Little Traverse Bay, each image is a meditation on the distance between the present moment and the future, which always seems just out of reach.
The photographs are double exposures, captured on different days and at various times, creating a sense of temporal fluidity. The deliberate use of camera blur and movement during multiple exposures distorts and fragments the landscape, transforming the horizon into a shifting, abstract color field.
